Big Leaves, Big Personality!

If your shade garden needs a little drama, Farfugium ‘Giganteum’ is ready to steal the show. Its oversized, glossy green leaves bring bold texture and a lush, tropical feel to shady areas of the garden. As the largest of the commonly available Farfugium varieties, ‘Giganteum’ makes an especially striking focal point.

This shade-loving perennial performs well in our warm Southern climate and prefers rich, consistently moist soil with protection from strong sun, which can cause its large leaves to wilt or burn. It works beautifully in woodland gardens, shady borders, containers, and around ponds or other moist areas.

In fall, clusters of bright yellow, daisy-like flowers rise above the foliage, giving this plant another season of interest.

Good to Know: Those impressive leaves aren't just for show. ‘Giganteum’ can reach 3 to 4 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide, so give it enough room to make a statement.
