Same Roots...New Vibe

Springtime in the Lowcountry has a way of waking everything up. What felt quiet and still just weeks ago is suddenly buzzing with buds breaking open, pollen flying (whether we like it or not), and gardens stretching back to life. So naturally… we couldn’t resist a little refresh of our own.
Meet the New Look of The HORT!
What better time than spring, a season rooted in renewal, to unveil an updated look for the Charleston Horticultural Society?
With the help of the incredibly talented Blake Suarez, we’ve refreshed our logo in a way that feels both familiar and full of energy. The design still draws inspiration from our beloved Atamasco Lily, a true Lowcountry native and a symbol deeply tied to our roots. Still, it now carries a bit more of the spirit, movement, and fun that defines who we are today.
You’ll also notice something else… We’re leaning into what everyone already calls us: The HORT. (Feels right, doesn’t it?)
Our mission hasn’t changed, and neither has our heart. Growing Greener Together remains at the center of everything we do, from lectures to workshops to community partnerships. And yes, garden green is still holding strong as our signature color. Some things are just too good to mess with.
Did You Spot It at Plantasia?
If you joined us at Plantasia on Saturday (and wow… what a day), you may have already gotten a sneak peek.
New logo. New vibe. And yes… new t-shirts and stickers.
Be honest, did you grab one? Because they went fast!
There’s something pretty special about seeing our community walking around in The HORT gear, plants in hand, swapping stories, loading up on garden treasures, and maybe squeezing in one more purchase before heading out. That’s exactly the energy we wanted this refresh to reflect.
What’s Next? This is just the beginning.
Over the coming weeks, you’ll start to see more of the new look roll out on everything from hats to decals and beyond. It’s all part of celebrating where we’ve been (25 years strong!) and where we’re headed next.
Fresh season. Fresh look. Same love of gardening, community, and getting our hands a little dirty.
And honestly? We think it suits us.
