Bee Informed: Our Pollinator Partners with Jim Strohm
Join master beekeeper Jim Strohm for a lively workshop all about honey bees—why they matter, how they keep our gardens thriving, and what we can do to support them.
Time & Location
Nov 12, 2025, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Charleston HORT Office, 46 Windermere Blvd, Charleston, SC 29407, USA
About the event
Get ready to buzz with excitement—because this workshop is all about our most important pollinators: the honey bees! We’re thrilled to welcome Jim Strohm, President of the SC Beekeepers Association and a Journeyman Beekeeper who has been tending hives for more than a decade.
Jim’s not only passionate about bees—he lives it. He maintains 12 hives at the Clemson University Coastal Research and Education Center in Charleston, teaches beginner beekeeping classes, and even supports scholarships for local youth to spark the next generation of beekeepers.
In this fun and engaging session, Jim will share what makes honey bees so vital, how they support both gardens and farms, and simple ways we can all be better partners to pollinators. You’ll leave with a new appreciation for these hardworking little insects—and maybe even inspired to try beekeeping yourself!
Come curious, bring your questions, and let’s “bee informed” together.
